Courses, workshops and walks

We offer a variety of courses on herbal medicine and related subjects. These range from guided herb walks, one day workshops on how to make medicines, to a part-time 10 week course that explores the practice of herbal medicine in more depth. Courses are open to all levels of ability and interest, and full information is given to help you ascertain whether or not what we are offering will meet your needs. We also offer corporate away-days to organisations.

A Herbalist on Every Street

Courses take place at a number of different venues around the City in order to incorporate some outdoor activities in the urban fringe, and to make courses more accessible at a local level. To date we have led herb walks and run workshops in Hartcliff and Withywood (exploring Dundry Slopes); Boiling Wells (St Werburghs), Castle Park, the Northern Slopes (Knowle), Cock Road Ridge (Hanham), Avon New Cut (Southville), Bristol Downs (Clifton), the CREATE Centre and its environs, and Leigh Woods. Evening classes and some more practical workshops take place at the Urban Fringe Dispensary itself on Colston Street.

Introduction to Herbal Medicine

This course comprises 10 three hour teaching sessions, and is held at various times during the year. Cost: £250

A Residential weekend that combines theoretical teachings on holistic practice and practical medicine making. Cost: £140
